## What the left says
- El-Sayed's campaign argues Stevens' defection reflects establishment discomfort with a progressive, anti-establishment candidate rather than any genuine policy failure on his part.
- El-Sayed explicitly disavowed the antisemitic ad in question, and his allies see Stevens' continued pressure as relitigating a primary that ended months earlier rather than responding to his actual positions.
- Stevens' former chief of staff and campaign team resigned in protest, signaling that many Democrats view her move as a betrayal of the party at a moment when Senate control is at stake.
- Some Democrats believe the endorsement could backfire by reinforcing El-Sayed's outsider appeal and casting Stevens as emblematic of a political establishment tied to unpopular foreign policy positions.

## What the right says
- Stevens' endorsement is framed as an act of political courage, prioritizing concerns about antisemitism and extremism over party loyalty.
- Rogers and his supporters emphasize that Stevens cited El-Sayed's association with Hasan Piker and his campaign's handling of an ad she viewed as antisemitic as disqualifying.
- Republicans see the endorsement as validating concerns that El-Sayed's campaign tolerates or is too closely associated with anti-Israel rhetoric that alienates Jewish and moderate voters.
- Trump and Rogers both publicly praised Stevens' decision as a meaningful signal to Black and Jewish voters in a race that could determine Senate control.

## Common ground
- Haley Stevens endorsed Republican Mike Rogers over Democratic nominee Abdul El-Sayed just two days before the Michigan Senate election.
- The dispute centers on an outside group's ad linking U.S. support for Israel to higher grocery prices, which Stevens called antisemitic.
- El-Sayed's campaign asked Stevens to stay away from remaining campaign events after the public feud escalated.
- The outcome of Michigan's Senate race is widely viewed as pivotal to which party controls the U.S. Senate.
